Documents Required for a Duplicate RC
During application process these document are important:
- Form 26: When you apply for duplicate RC this form is important get it on Parivahan Sewa website or at the RTO.
- FIR Copy: If your RC is lost go to local police station and file a First Information Report (FIR) and get a copy.
- Affidavit: Get a Affidavit statment that your RC is lost and attested by a notary public or magistrate.
- Identity Proof: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Passport.
- Address Proof: Aadhaar Card, utility bill, or rental agreement.
- Valid Insurance Certificate: Add a copy of Vehicle insurance policy.
- (PUC) certificate: Proof of compliance with emission standards.
- Challan Clearance: Clearance certificate from the traffic police.
- Tax Clearance: A proof of tax payment from the accounts Department.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC): NOC certificate is important it indicate that your vehicle is not under loan.
- PAN Card or Form 60/61: As applicable, for tax purposes.
- Engine and Chassis Pencil Print: If required by RTO take physical print of engine and chassis numbers.

Follow these steps to track your application status:
- Visit https://parivahan.gov.in Portal.
- Click on “Online Services” > “Vehicle Related Services.”
- Select State and click on proceed.
- Click on Status in menu bar and then “Know Your Application Status”.

- Enter the requried information and fill captcha.
- Click the submit button and check status.

When Do You Need a Duplicate RC?
- Lost or Misplaced RC: The original RC is lost or stolen.
- Damaged RC: The RC is torn, faded, or otherwise illegible.
- Destroyed RC: RC is damaged due to fire, water, or other causes.
